American musical forever!
"Oklahoma!"

Tickets $34.00/Orchestra; $27.00/Mezzanine

Based on "Green Grow the Lilacs," a stage play by Lynn Riggs, "Oklahoma!"
brought together for the first time composer Richard Rodgers and
lyricist/librettist Oscar Hammerstein II. The duo would go on to write nine
Broadway musicals together, but none would be as important for the
development of American musical theatre as "Oklahoma!" Set soon after the
beginning of the 20th century in the Indian territory now known as the state
of Oklahoma, against a backdrop of the rivalry between cattlemen and
farmers, the plot revolves mainly around the question of who will take farm
girl Laurey Williams to the box social - the decent cowboy Curly McLain or
the sinister farm hand Jud Fry. This sparkling new touring production is
adapted from the Cameron Mackintosh presentation of the Royal National
Theatre production that won the hearts of a new generation of theatergoers.
"Oh, What a Beautiful Musical!" - NY Post The songs from "Oklahoma!"
you'll recognize include: "Oh, What A Beautiful Morning'," "People Will Say

National Players present "THE TAMING OF THE SHREW"

Tickets $15.00/Adults; $10.00/Children 12 and under

One of Shakespeare's most famous comedies, "THE TAMING OF THE SHREW" is a
love story. It begins in Padua, where Lucentio arrives to attend the
university, but his priorities change when he sees Bianca, a beautiful, mild
young woman with whom he instantly falls in love. There are two problems:
Bianca already has suitors; and her father, Baptista, has declared that no
one may court her until her older sister, the ill-tempered Katherine, is
married. Enter Petruchio, a brash young man from Verona, who arrives in
Padua to marry a rich woman, and does not care what she is like as long as
she brings him a fortune. He agrees to marry Katherine sight unseen. Do
Petruchio and Katherine wed? Who gets "tamed?" Is it possible there is
more than one "shrew" in the play? Come see this classic to find out the
answers to these questions. www.nationalplayers.org

Saturday, April 22, 2006 (Series B) - 7:30pm - Modern Dance at its best!
Taylor 2 Dance Company

Tickets $34.00/Orchestra; $27.00/Mezzanine

Paul Taylor has been called a genius; a legend; a cultural icon. Time
Magazine calls him "the reigning master of modern dance," and the New York
Daily News declares him "the best choreographer in the world." Paul Taylor
is the recipient of dozens of awards and honors. He was awarded the
National Medal of the Arts by President Clinton in 1993, the same year he
created Taylor 2, the junior ensemble of the Paul Taylor Dance Company.
Working along with longtime colleague Linda Hodes, he established Taylor 2
to ensure that his works could be seen by audiences all over the world,
unhindered by economic or logistical limitations. Mr. Taylor used the
structure of his original company for Taylor 2: six professionals with a
particular gift for his style who perform his masterworks in smaller venues
throughout the world. The repertoire for Taylor 2 spans the broad spectrum
of Mr. Taylor's work. Many of the dances performed by the company have been
re-worked to enable the smaller ensemble of dancers in Taylor 2 to perform
them. Critics and audiences alike cheer as Taylor 2 introduces the
athleticism, humor and range of emotions found in Mr. Taylor's work.

a stage
play by Lynn Riggs, “<st1:State w:st=3D"on"><st1:place =
w:st=3D"on">Oklahoma</st1:place></st1:State>!”
brought together for the first time composer Richard Rodgers and
lyricist/librettist Oscar Hammerstein II.  The duo would go on to =
write
nine Broadway musicals together, but none would be as important for the
development of American musical theatre as “<st1:State =
w:st=3D"on"><st1:place
 w:st=3D"on">Oklahoma</st1:place></st1:State>!”  Set soon =
after the
beginning of the 20th century in the Indian territory now known as the =
state of
Oklahoma, against a backdrop of the rivalry between cattlemen and =
farmers, the
plot revolves mainly around the question of who will take farm girl =
Laurey
Williams to the box social – the decent cowboy Curly McLain or the
sinister farm hand Jud Fry.  This sparkling new touring production =
is
adapted from the Cameron Mackintosh presentation of the Royal National =
Theatre
production that won the hearts of a new generation of =
theatergoers.
