Contemporary Youth Orchestra Presents Benefit Screening of This Is Spinal Tap

The Contemporary Youth Orchestra is celebrating its 11th season and CYO’s slogan for the season is “Take It to Eleven!” – inspired by the movie This Is Spinal Tap.

In the movie – Rob Reiner’s hilarious “mockumentary” about the fictional rock band Spinal Tap – the group gets amps that go to 11 because 10 is not loud enough. For CYO, it’s not about volume, but about going beyond what is expected and anticipated, which the orchestra continually does.

CYO is composed of more than 100 of the best high school-age musicians in this region, representing more than 40 schools.

To kick off this season, CYO is presenting a benefit screening of This Is Spinal Tap on Saturday, November 26 Cleveland State University’s Drinko Recital Hall – in the Music and Communications Building at 2001 Euclid Avenue (the north-west corner of Euclid Avenue and E. 21st Street). The doors will open at 10:15 p.m., and the movie will be shown at 11 p.m.

Donations of any amount will be accepted. The suggested donation is $11. Popcorn and soda will be provided.

For more information, call 216-321-3525.
