We are on the same page regarding this excellent production. Director Sarah May and her cast, crew and production staff are presenting a memorable experience for Beck Center audiences. It's difficult to single out any one person as this is definitely a company of "team players"! How beautifully they all interact with each other to bring us into the lives of these Jewish people and their selfless protectors. The production is filled with powerful performances and some unique staging that reached out to touch those of us in last night's audience and make us an important part of the message of this play.
I only wish I had known about your daughter's questions, DB. There had been an informational meeting earlier in the evening for those of us who have volunteered to serve as docents for the production. Yvette Hanzel, Beck's Director of External Affairs and Sarah May informed members of Beth Israel - the West Temple and others of our responsibilities and shared the available informational resources. Some of us will be available as docents during regular evening and matinee performances. We will also welcome the students from 27 middle schools who are scheduled to attend five special student matinees and view the exhibits. We are preparing to answer the questions they, like your daughter, may have about the Holocaust, the play or Judaism. The students will have the opportunity to share their thoughts about their experience and how they can continue Anne's true legacy; to find out what each of us can do to fight prejudice and hatred wherever they find it..
                                                              Shalom,
                                                                Rhoda Rosen
