Around the Circle
Time capsule discovered in the Circle.  In February, while Case was =
completing demolition of the former Mt. Sinai Medical Center at E. 105th =
Street, an excavating crew discovered a blast from the past.  Read about =

Help Judson in University Circle, as it celebrates its 100th =
anniversary, to honor older adults who "make things happen" in =
University Circle. The Smart Living Awards highlight the dedication of =
senior Clevelanders who have been involved with University Circle =
institutions. Nominate someone age 65 or older, or someone under 65 who =

University Circle Police Department Honored. =20
The City of Cleveland and Cleveland City Council recently honored =
members of the University Circle Police Department (UCPD), under the =
direction of Chief Tim Peppard, for their outstanding service and heroic =
efforts during the 2003 shooting at Case. Councilman Kevin Conwell =
presented a resolution of recognition to UCPD Lt. Kenji Kurokawa and =
Sergeant Dan Stein, for their heroic actions that day and to UCPD =
Dispatchers, Elaine Carcione and Alanna Hehr,  for their skillful =
handling of dispatch communications that day.

In honor of Viktor Schreckengost's 100th birthday (June 26, 2006) The =
Viktor Schreckengost National Centennial Exhibition, from March 18-June =
26, will showcase his extraordinary work at more than 100 venues, =
including University Circle's Cleveland Institute of Art, =
Schreckengost's academic home for nearly 75 years.  Cleveland Museum of =
Natural History, Cleveland Botanical Garden, Cleveland Institute of =
Music, Case's Kelvin Smith Library, Western Reserve Historical Society =
