Weathervane Playhouse Announces OPEN-CALL Auditions for=20

ANGELS IN AMERICA -- Part 2 -- Perestroika

Weathervane Playhouse will hold OPEN-CALL AUDITIONS for ANGELS IN =
AMERICA - Part 2 -- PERESTROIKA, by Tony Kushner on Monday and Tuesday, =
March 20 & 21 at 7:00 p.m. Auditions will be held at Weathervane =
Playhouse, 1301 Weathervane Lane, Akron, In the Valley off Merriman =
Road. No advance appointments are required.  Performances run May 18 - =
June 4, 2006.

Cast requirements for Perestroika: (3 roles are available)

1 Woman (25 - 35)

2 Men (25 - 40) (1 African American)

Please prepare a one- to two-minute contemporary, dramatic monologue - =
it may be from the script. Scripts will be available at the box office.

Director for the production is Sean McConaha, Weathervane's Director of =
Education and Producer of Youth/Family productions. He holds an M.A. =
degree in Theater from The University of Akron. For Weathervane, he has =
directed award-winning productions of The King of the Kosher Grocers and =
Romeo and Juliet, as well as The Glass Menagerie, The Chosen, Hamlet, A =
Lesson Before Dying and the Dietz Theater inaugural production of Angels =
in America: Millennium Approaches.

Weathervane Playhouse is committed to non-traditional casting. Except in =
cases where race, gender, age or disability is essential to the play, =
all roles will be cast on the basis of talent. Weathervane Playhouse is =
a community theater. All performers in all productions are volunteers. =
