Cleveland Public Theatre is looking for Teaching Artists for its nationally
recognized Brick City Theatre program and Student Theatre Enrichment Program
(STEP). 

 

Brick City Theatre offers summertime theatre programs to youth aged 6-13 at
community centers in Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority estates
(low-income housing). Children self-select to be involved with the program.
Teaching Artists lead children in creating, producing, and performing
original theatre pieces.

 

STEP is a rigorous summertime training program for at-risk teens aged 14-19.
Students audition to secure a spot in the ensemble, and then create,
produce, and perform an original work which is toured to Cleveland city
parks in August.

 

Interested applicants should send an email to Chris Seibert and use the
following email eduction at cptonline.org for all communications. Attach resume
AND please include a brief statement of theatrical experience, experience
working with youth, and any experience in creating original theatre works. 

 

Brick City Teaching Artists work on an independent contractor basis and
typically teach two or three classes a week. Starting Teaching Artists
typically make $90-150/wk, depending on number of classes, experience, and
level of responsibility.

 

STEP Teaching Artists work on an independent contractor basis and may work
anywhere between 15 and 40+ hours per week. Teaching opportunities exist in:
Acting, Singing, Dance, and Tech/Stage Management. STEP Teaching Artists
