I need actors for a staged reading at Karamu Performing arts center. I hav=
e
four roles to fill (character descriptions to follow) If you are able to
commit and are interested, please email me your contact info and a headshot
and resume if possible.

The Play: The Guest At Central Park West by Levy Lee Simon
Synopsis: A homeless drifter shows up at the Central Park West apartment of
African American Professors Charles Watts, and his wife professor Nina
Odood Watts.
The Times: April 10th at 6:00 (arena theater) and April 21st at 6:00
(annie mae)
plus add'l rehearsals TBA dependant upon schedules over the next week and a
half.

The characters needed are:

*Professor Nina Odood Watts - 45*

World-renowned professor of modern dance. She is elegant and sophisticated.
She appears physically younger than her years. She is overprotective and
very suspicious.

*Professor Jennifer Engles - 50*

Professor of Theatre Arts. She is talented and intelligent but has never
lived up to her potential because she chose to make her career second to he=
r
husband. There is a lightness that hides the pain and anger underneath. The
anger surfaces along with other personalities when she drinks.

*Professor Eric Engles - 52*

Husband of Jennifer. Good friend and colleague of Charles. Tries to be hip
and aware but is a pessimist of sorts though he calls himself a realist. =
Has
been controlling and domineering with Carolyn.

*Terrence Victor Barlow - 52*

Terrence is the guest at Central Park West. When we first meet him, he
appears to be homeless. A brilliant man that fell on hard times, but later
we find out differently. Inquisitive nature and instigator. Charming, but
dangerous.

**

*Seth Vanover - 22*

Lisa's boyfriend/fianc=E9 from Utah and France. He longs to be a homeboy, t=
hug
rapper, dresses in the latest hip-hop styles.

I can't promise compensation, but I will buy you a beer (if you're over 21,
of course. Otherwise it's koolaid)

Thanks so much.

E.B. Smith

Peace, love and hair grease all. Be strong.
