=B3An act of brutality that shocked the nation=B2 is the description of =
the story behind the upcoming LCCC Theatre Program production. The LCCC =
Theatre Program is presenting THE LARAMIE PROJECT on Monday through =
Saturday, April 3-8, 2006, at 7:30 p.m. THE LARAMIE PROJECT is a =
documentary drama of the aftermath following the hate crime murder of =
University of Wyoming student, Matthew Shepard that drew the shocked =
attention of world wide media and rocked the nation in 1998 and brought =
crimes of hatred to the attention of the world.=20

=20

The citizens of Laramie, Wyoming were extensively interviewed before and =
during the trials of the two young men who committed the hate crime =
against the gay freshman student in an attempt to understand how such a =
vicious crime could happen in a seemingly friendly and welcoming small =
western college town. Sixteen LCCC theatre students portray and speak =
the actual words of the over 70 characters who participated in the =
interviews to try to find answers for hate crimes against minorities.

=20

Some explicit mature language is used in the interviews as quoted in the =
performance; however, the action on stage is suitable for all audiences.

=20

All performances will be presented in the Stocker Center Main Theatre.

Tickets are available at the Stocker Center box office for $7.00 for =
adults and $6.00 for all students and Golden Buckeye card holders.
