SPRING MUSICAL ARTS CONCERT

Lake Erie College announces a Spring Musical Arts Concert to be held
Sunday, April 30 at 4 p.m. in Morley Music Hall, located on the Lake
Erie College campus. The concert will feature instrumental pieces and
choral music by major classical composers celebrating spring, renewal
and rebirth.=20

The program will showcase The LEC Community Chorus, under the direction
of Lake Erie College Professor Paul Gothard, performing works by Butler,
Mendelssohn, Singh, Gothard and Stouffer. The LEC Flute Choir, under the
direction of Lake Erie College instructor Judith Elias, will perform
works by Gottschalk, Haydn, Catherine McMichael and Mozart. Judith Elias
will also be heard as flute soloist accompanied by pianist, Roberta
Whitely, in Poem, by Charles Griffes.

Among the student instrumental performances will be LEC piano student,
Marie Giosi performing Chopin's Nocturne Op.72, No.1, and Bela Bartok's
rhythmically driving work, Allegro Barbaro.  Deb Hoffman, also an LEC
piano student, will collaborate with guest-oboist, Lisa Wilson, in a
performance of the first movement of Hindemith's Sonata for Oboe and
Piano.  Hoffman and Wilson will team up with flautist, Judith Elias for
a performance of the first movement of the Trio for Flute, Oboe and
Piano, by Madeleine Dring. =20

The concert is free and open to the public. Concert hall doors will open
at 3:30 p.m., with seating on a first-come basis.  For questions
