We put out a 'Call for Submissions' for unpublished 10-minute works and
we were thrilled to receive almost 300 submissions from playwrights from
the East Coast to the West Coast and every place in-between, including
many other countries around the globe. The Fine Arts Association is
pleased to bring 10 new works to our stage in celebration of the 10th
Anniversary of our One Act Festival.

Adventure Hole
by Mark Freeman (Houston, TX)
An archeologist digs up more than he bargains for when a young reporter
arrives and her presence triggers unexpected....or perhaps not so
unexpected...results.

Old Friends
by Michele Markarian (Cambridge, MA)
Two former college classmates bump into each other on a train to Boston
and catch up on the paths they have taken in their lives.

Downsizing the Family
by Walt Vail (Pitman, NJ)
A black comedy involving the CEO of a large company who arrives home
after an extended business absence and finds that his own family has
been replaced by a down-sized family who claim to be the CEO's own.

Supper with Gus
by Don Cook (Charlotte, NC)
Set in a cabin near the Artic Circle in Alaska, two fur trappers, an
American and a Norwegian, have supper while the American chats about
life in the 'lower' 48.

A vacationing couple crosses the oldest bridge in Paris, while
discussing their next move -- in direction and, in unspoken words, the
future of their relationship.

A women reinvents herself while trying to meet the man of her dreams --
at a Boca Raton Singles' Speed Date function.

The Jar
by Cynthia Mercati (DesMoines, IA)
In the winter after the end of WWII, Jozef and Janna bring Malina to a
field that before the war might have been her village in Czechoslovakia.

Gone in 600 Seconds
by Don Paul Martin (Northfield, NH)
An existential version of four characters ala "Friends" who race to
assemble a ten minute play in ten minutes, discovering it is difficult
to discuss the human condition in 600 seconds.
