Dear Singers and Friends of Music:

  Please spend a moment reading our URGENT APPEAL to anyone who cares to help Opera Circle celebrate its 10th anniversary with the world premiere of Thamos, King of Egypt commissioned by Opera Circle from Halim El-Dabh. This new work contains 20 minutes of the most beautiful choral music ever by Mozart. Summit Choral Society originally contracted to perform this music by Mozart, but has just cancelled.

  Opera Circle is putting together a chorus that would sing 20 minutes of Mozart music in Thamos. Memorization is not required. Opera Circle provides music and a CD recording to facilitate the learning process. To make the schedule workable, Opera Circle opens a series of rehearsal dates to choose from, all in the Slavic Village in Cleveland. Participants will be sent exact address and directions.

  If you are a singer interested in this wonderful opera celebration, choose at least 2 from the selection of rehearsal dates; add the dress rehearsal and three performances. We will be there waiting for you:

  Friday, April 28 at 7:00 p.m. rehearsal option
  Sunday, April 30 at 7:30 p.m. rehearsal option
  Monday, May 1 at 7:00 p.m. rehearsal option
  Wednesday, May 3 at 7:00 p.m. rehearsal option
  Thursday, May 4 at 7:00 p.m. rehearsal option
  Friday, May 5 at 7:00 p.m. rehearsal option

  Tuesday, May 9 at 7:00 p.m. orchestra rehearsal—recommended

  Wednesday, May 10 at 6:00 p.m. dress with orchestra—obligatory 

  Friday, May 12 at 8:00 p.m. curtain: performance—obligatory
  Friday, May 19 at 8:00 p.m. curtain: performance—obligatory
  Saturday, May 20 at 8:00 p.m. curtain: performance—obligatory

  Opera Circle welcomes everyone.
  Stipends of $100 (flat fee) are available to voices with greater experience.
