I'm forwarding this at her request. Interested lighting designers
should respond directly to Daune Mahy at Oberlin.

Hello Janet! Thanks for your help with the Oberlin in Italy Program
--here's the info I need to get out there(I could not get the Ohio Pal
link to register me!)

The 2006 Oberlin in Italy Program is seeking a lighting designer. The
position is an apprentice position. The requirements are a person
well-versed in lighting to come and light Bellini's "La Sonnambula". We
do 4 performances of the opera in regional theaters of the Marche
region(Urbania, Urbino, and Montefiore) The houses seat 350-500 people.
We have an excellent source of lights, cables, etc. The Stage Director
is Michael McConnell. We want someone who is willing to work hard and
doesn't whine!

The program runs June 3-July 1st. The biggest challenge is getting
there at this late notice. The director has numerous suggestions for
dealing with this issues.

The offer is free Italian class (worth 5 credits plus 2 for the
opera--worth over $7000) , free housing, $500(which will more than pay
for food) and a recommendation if the job is well done.
