The Cleveland Play House will hold auditions for the children's roles in A
Christmas Story on Sunday, July 9 and Monday, July 10 from 11AM to 6PM.

A Christmas Story will rehearse starting November 7 and will perform
November 30 through December 24. Rehearsals and performances are full time.
While every effort will be made to allow child actors to attend their
classes, some school will be missed during our technical rehearsals and
previews, and there will be a limited number of student matinees.

For the audition, please prepare anything of your choosing for three
minutes. You may do a monologue or two, and you may sing, though there will
not be an accompanist. There is no singing in the play; the purpose of the
audition is for us to get to know you as a performer. Auditions are open to
members of Actors' Equity Association and non-members. Non-AEA children, if
hired to perform in the play, will not be asked to join the union. Adults
are not being considered for roles at this time.

We are looking for boys and girls who can play nine years old on stage, and
one boy who can play a five year old on stage. You needn't be the exact age,
as long as you can be believable in that age.

All children from the Cleveland area of any ethnicity are welcome to
audition, but you must have an appointment to do so. We would like to fill
Sunday, July 9 prior to making appointments for Monday, July 10. To make an
appointment, please call 216 795 7000 x967. Leave on the voice mail the name
of the child, the name of the parental contact for the child, a phone
number, and whether you would prefer a morning or afternoon appointment. You
will be called back with a specific appointment time.
