A talent survey has been created by AFTRA to better understand attitudes =
toward the acting profession, the unions (AFTRA and SAG) and current =
compensation rates nationwide. It is designed for professional actors =
who are paid for this work but who currently are not members of AFTRA or =
SAG. Members of Actor's Equity are certainly encouraged to take this =
survey.=20

Being a professional actor is difficult, particularly in these times, =
and we routinely recommend that actors who are not ready to join the =
union get experience in non-union productions. We are pro-union, not =
anti-non-union. It is in all of our best interests to maintain a =
healthy, thriving production economy, and we constantly strive to =
encourage and maintain fair wages for all performers.=20
