Chet -- Needs to play Mid-40s -- as a boy was  physically and psychologicall=
y=20
wounded. As an adult struggles valiantly to do  what=E2=80=99s best for his=20=
family. =20
Ellen -- Needs to play Early-40s -- a  loving woman who is able to adapt and=
=20
shift emotionally depending on the needs  of husband and family. Tough when=20
she needs to be.Prepare a monologue no longer than two minutes in length. It=
 is =20
recommended that all auditioners be familiar with the script which is=20
available  at the Playhouse.  Weathervane is located at 1301 Weathervane Lan=

Brief Synopsis Over the  Tavern
Tom Dudzik's autobiographical portrait of his family is a wonderful  theater=
=20
experience for young and old.  "Over The Tavern" takes us back  to the 1950'=
s=20
and follows a very tight-knit Catholic family in Buffalo, New  York; The=20
Pazinskis- who live upstairs of the bar they own. Chet and Ellen, Mr.  and M=
rs.=20
Pazinski have four children, Eddie, Annie, Georgie, (who has some  learning=20
disabilities due to an accident as a young boy and wise-cracking 12  year ol=
d=20
Rudy).  Rudy's primary teacher is Sister Clarissa, who  endeavors with click=
er and=20
ruler to keep order in the classroom and to  teach the catechism to her youn=
g=20
charges.
=20
*Bob Belfance has directed over 200 plays and has  run theaters in various=20
parts of the northeastern United States.   (Ohio to New York City).  His cre=
dits=20
include  30 years of time spent at the helm of Weathervane as  Managing and=20
Artistic Director for the Playhouse.  The Playhouse is happy  to welcome bac=
k=20
Mr. Belfance after a fifteen-year  absence.
