CALL FOR TEN-MINUTE PLAY SCRIPTS

dst of Changing Theatrical Landscapes"

Taking our lead from the conference wide theme of "Changing Theatrical La=
ndscapes: Mapping New Directions in History, Pedagogy and Practices for t=
he 21st Century," the MATC Playwriting Symposium seeks ten-minute plays t=
hat in some way speak, either thematically or stylistically, to the devel=
oping world of theatre in the new millennium.=20

This is a juried event, and the call for scripts is directed primarily at=
 academic playwrights who are either faculty or graduate students at coll=
eges and universities seeking the opportunity to present their work to th=
eir peers.  The plays will be rehearsed and presented as concert readings=
 at the conference with invited directors, actors, and dramaturges.  All =
playwrights whose work is selected must register for the conference; ther=
e is no funding from the conference for travel or lodging costs.  The Mid=
 America Theatre conference takes place at the Minneapolis Hyatt Hotel on=
 March 1-4, 2007.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
=95   Scripts must be typewritten in accepted format, using Samuel French=
 or similar guidelines. Submit no more than two scripts per playwright.  =
The scripts should be no more than 10 pages long.
=95   Scripts should bear only the title of the play, but not the name an=
d address of the author. On a separate title page, list the title of the =
play, name of author, address, phone number, email, and university/colleg=
e or state affiliation. This page will be separated from the scripts befo=
re they are given to the readers.
=95   Submit three (3) copies of each script.  In addition, email a copy =
of the play to: sfindley at wooster.edu as an MS Word file.
=95   The play may call for NO MORE THAN FOUR ACTORS to participate. Role=
s may be doubled, however, but only four actors per script will be accomm=
odated.
=95   Scripts will not be returned.
=95   All submissions must be received by October 30, 2006.
=95   Acceptance will be acknowledged by the first week of February, 2007=
, if not sooner.=20
=95   If your play is selected, you must register for the conference and =
pay all conference fees to have your play produced.
