CALL FOR ACTORS, DIRECTORS, AND DRAMATURGS

Mid-America Theatre Conference Playwriting Symposium:
"Mapping New Directions in Playwriting: Creating Dramatic Texts in the Mi=
dst of Changing Theatrical Landscapes"

The Playwriting Symposium of the Mid-America Theatre Conference seeks act=
ors, directors, and dramaturges to participate in our Mid-America Dramati=
sts Lab, which produces an afternoon of ten-minute plays in concert readi=
ngs at the Conference.=20

Taking our lead from the conference wide theme of "Changing Theatrical La=
ndscapes: Mapping New Directions in History, Pedagogy and Practices for t=
he 21st Century," the ten-minute plays will speak, either thematically or=
 stylistically, to the developing world of theatre in the new millennium.=
 All actors, directors, and dramaturges are welcome to their own ten-minu=
te plays: see the previously listed Call For Scripts for more details.

This is a juried event, and the call for actors, directors, and dramaturg=
s is directed primarily at academic theatre artists who are either facult=
y or graduate students at colleges and universities seeking the opportuni=
ty to present their work to their peers.=20

The plays will be rehearsed and presented as concert readings at the conf=
erence with invited directors, actors, and dramaturges.  All theatre arti=
sts who are selected to participate in this event must register for the c=
onference; there is no funding from the conference for travel or lodging =
costs.  The Mid America Theatre conference takes place at the Minneapolis=
 Hyatt Hotel on March 1-4, 2007.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
=95   ACTORS: Please submit a headshot, resume or CV, and a letter descri=
bing the roles you normally play, and the kind of roles you would be inte=
rested in exploring at this conference.
=95   DIRECTORS: Please submit a CV detailing directing experience and a =
letter describing the new work you've directed in the past, and the way y=
ou normally work with playwrights.  Describe the kind of projects you mig=
ht find interesting to explore at this conference.
=95   DRAMATURGS: Please submit a CV detailing your dramaturgy experience=
 both with new work and in other capacities. Describe the kind of project=
s you might find interesting to explore at this conference.
=95   All submissions must be received by October 30, 2006.
=95   Please submit all headshots and resumes in hard copy to:
