What is OCTA?
OCTA is a service organization for more than 100 community theatres in =
Ohio and adjacent areas of bordering states. Since its formation in =
1953, it has grown to be one of the largest and most successful =
organizations of its kind. With its funding from the Ohio Arts Council, =
donations, dues and proceeds from its many self supporting activities, =
OCTA provides a growing list of services to its member theatres.

OCTA WANTS YOU!!!!!!

Ever wonder what the "behind the scenes" of OCTA is really like? Wanted =
to make a difference in the world of community theatre by serving on the =
OCTA board? Thought there might be a better way to do something or =
thought of a new idea that might benefit community theaters =
state-wide....AND BEYOND? If so, please read on (OK - read on in any =
case!!!)

At this year's Annual Convention over Labor Day weekend, the theatre =
delegates in attendance will be electing at-large members to the OCTA =
Board of Directors. This year, elections will be held for 6 three-year =
full terms and 2 partial terms.

OCTA is looking for interested energetic persons to fill these at-large =
positions on its Board. OCTA is one of the strongest statewide service =
organizations in the nation, either in community theatre or any of the =
arts. It needs your support and participation to maintain this strength =
and to continue to provide and improve its services to its members and =
member communities.

As a member of the OCTA Board of Directors, there are many areas where =
you can participate and share your time, energy and expertise. The Board =
members comprise and guide the committees of the four OCTA divisions: =
Programming, Administration, Finance and Marketing/Membership/Public =
Relations. These are the backbone of the OCTA organization.

If you are interested in becoming a Board Candidate, of if you have any =
question about the Board, the member responsibilities, or the committees =
of OCTA's divisions, please contact Nomination chair Bill Berry or your =
regional representative. You can find contact information at =
www.octaweb.org <http://www.octaweb.org> under OCTA Board. Deadline for =
Board Candidate packets is August 15, 2006.
