FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 22, 2006

"FOLLOWING BLISS" achieves excellence in Independent Digital Filmmaking!
LA Premiere at Dances with Films Film Festival

Hollywood, CA (07/22/06) - The brilliant and intense independent
feature film, "FOLLOWING BLISS" has been sweeping film festivals
across the country. A film with an evocative, multicultural voice,
"FOLLOWING BLISS", the directorial feature film debut of Cleve
Lamison, has won "Best Narrative Feature" at the Global Arts Film
Festival, the New Vision Fellowship with Creative Screenwriting
Magazine and selected for official competition in the Great Lakes
Films Festival, Stratford Upon Avon Film Festival, New York African
Diaspora Film Festival, Long Island International Film Expo, The
Martha's Vineyard African-American Film Festival, The Motor City
International Film Festival, The Houston Black Film Festival and the
African, Asian, Latin American Film Festivals. On Sunday, July 23,
2006 9:30 pm, "FOLLOWING BLISS", will premiere in Los Angeles at the
Dances With Films Film Festival.
www.FollowingBlissTheMovie.com.

"FOLLOWING BLISS" is a film all independent filmmakers can be proud
of. It was shot digitally in 11 days on a shoe string budget, a ton
of credit cards and an endless list of favors - in New York City no
less. The script, adapted from a stage play called, Bliss (was a
Pulitzer Contender in 2000!), attracted an amazing producing team
including Mevlut Akkaya (co-Founder of The Digital Film Academy),
Patrick DiRenna (Co-Founder The Digital Film Academy) and Michelle
Olofson (Director of Sales Development at People Magazine) and a
brilliant cast Ellen Bethea (The Practice, West Wing) as Jenny
Newman, Sean Patrick Reilly (Sleepers, Man Of The Century) as Jack
Newman, Reena Shah (American chair, The Lukcy Ones) as Abigail, Juian
Rozzell Jr. (John Henry) as Butch The Wolfman!

Director/Writer Cleve Lamison toured the world with the
internationally acclaimed Shanendoah Shakespeare troupe. Lauded from
stage to stage for his portrayals of Othello, Dogberry in Much Ado
About Nothing, Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream and many other
classic roles, he brought his passion back home, to New York and
started the The BlackBird Theatre Company. Here he created something
completely unique, evolving visceral, immediate "real time" plays
with multi-cultural casting. Soon the opportunity arrived to expand
and he did so, creating an after school drama outreach program for
Harlem's "at risk" kids.

Lamison's writing has won or been a finalist of the Mary Roberts
Rinehardt National Drama Award, The Pilgrim Project Playwriting
Grant, Scriptapalooza's TV Drama Award, The American Accolades Award,
The New York Theatre Workshop's Van Lier Fellowship, The America's
Best Writing Award and Pilot Quest TV Writing Competition and the
2004 Screenplay Festival. An extraordinary talent, Lamison's works
can seen in print, off broadway and on the silver screen.

"FOLLOWING BLISS" watches from shadows as married couple Jack and
Jenny Newman try to find a shared bliss while living two very
different fantasies. Jack, a creatively supressed former musician
works as a minor, but well-paid cog, in the huge corporate machine
run by his father-in-law and Jenny, the perfect suburban wife
replete with the house, sailboat, sedan and baby on the way. The
American picture of idyll and success, which like many pictures,
paints over the deep cracks that lie within the image.

A lazy afternoon finds Jack's former band mates popping over for
dinner, bringing with them a scheme to get the band back together.
Their dreams of stardom almost washed from their minds, they are
handed a golden opportunity. A chance to rekindle and create their
so-longed for fame. A year-long road tour is only the opening
offer. Initially as a lark, Jack contemplates joining the tour,
which would leave Jenny alone to raise their child. Finding no humor
in the situation, Jenny's fury instantly ignites. Within a moment
emotions spiral out of control; Jack matching Jenny for every leap of
malice. Can love over come all? At what point does love become
vengeance and joy turns tragic? If there is no right, is the price
of wrong death?
