>From one audience member to another---you have to see Medina's production of The King and I.
My friend had been telling me to go see this show, but I was reluctant. After all, if you've seen one production of The King and I, you've seen them all. I couldn't have been more wrong. This production is absolutely STUNNING, not just from an acting point of view, but also a tech point of view.
I have seen the King and I a few times and I have never cried before. But this production, I felt so connected with the characters I couldn't help but cry. To me, this is an extreme accomplishment for these actors.
The set was amazing! The backdrop is a custom-made one that is stunning to look at. Their set allows for easy movement and cuts down on running time which I can appreciate in a R&H musical.
I can't say enough about the lighting for this show. It was so beautiful with such a stunning color palette. If you see this show (which I strongly suggest you do) just look at the scrim and you'll be blown away.
This is not your typical King and I and you don't want to miss it!
Here's a list of the remaining performances:
Wednesday, July 26 - 7:30 pm
Thursday, July 27 - 7:30 pm
Saturday, July 29 - 7:30 pm
Sunday, July 30 - 2 pm
