It is our conviction that if souls were visible to the eye we would
clearly see the strange fact that each individual of the human species
corresponds to some species of the animal kingdom; and we would easily
recognize the truth, scarcely perceived by thinkers, that from the
oyster to the eagle, from the pig to the tiger, all animals are in man,
and that each of them is in each man; sometimes even several of them at
a time."=20
Victor Hugo, Les Miserables

"PLAYING THE GREAT CHARACTERS OF THE WORLD STAGE" is an in-depth
exploration of the images and rhythms that inform character.
Concentrated Script-Analysis, sensory exploration of the physical and
vocal life of a character that help physically and rhythmically define
behavior. This class involves advanced scene work from both the
classical and modern theatre; from Shakespeare to Chekhov to Albee to
contemporary playwrights.=20

The Professional Acting Workshop Series, led by Fairmount's Executive
Director, Tom Fulton, provide the highest quality professional actor
training for adults (ages 18 and up) and are grounded in the most
practical and powerful actor training concepts of the 20th century: The
Stanislavski System . They provide a clearly defined practical
education to those desiring to make acting their profession or
passionate vocation, providing an approach to acting which requires the
actor to work from a place of truth and physical action. =20
