Audition Reminder:

YES VIRGINIA, THERE IS A SANTA CLAUS

By Andrew J. Fenady
Directed By Karen O'Baker Porter

The Geauga Lyric Theater Guild will hold open auditions on Sunday =
October 8 and Monday October 9 from 6:30pm - 8:30pm at the Geauga =
Theater. Call backs on October 11.

All roles are available and encompass an age range of 8 - 60. Some =
actors may play multiple roles. We need a minimum 10 adult male actors, =
4 adult females, and several pre-teen children (both genders).

Auditioners should prepare a monologue, if possible. For those without =
monologues, readings from the script will be available.

In 1896 the New York Sun published an editiorial titled Is There a Santa =
Claus? Written by Sun staffer Frank Church in response to a letter from =
8 year old Virginia O'Hanlon, the editiorial later became a seasonal =
literary classic, reprinted countless times in American newspapers. Yes =
Virginia, There Is A Santa Claus is the partly true, partly fictional =
story behind the editorial, taking place in the cultural melting pot of =
1890s New York City. Full of colorful dialects and personalities, the =
play finds inspiration in the hardships of a city struggling to come of =
age. =20

The Geauga Theater is located on Historic Chardon Square, in Chardon, =
Ohio.
