Organist Tom Trenney to Perform at Lake Erie College=20

(Painesville, Ohio) - Organist Tom Trenney will perform a free concert =
on Friday, November 3, 2006, at 7:30 p.m. in Morley Music Hall on the =
campus of Lake Erie College. The event is open to the public and is only =
the second public performance made on the newly-restored Carol Lewis =
Morris '67 Skinner Organ .

Trenney's program will include pieces by Bach, Camille Saint-Sa=EBns, =
Julius Reubke, Leo Sowerby and Dudley Buck. The performance will =
conclude with improvisational pieces.=20

A native of Perry, Ohio, Trenney is director of Music Ministries and =
organist at First Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, Mich., where he =
directs five choirs and Many Voices...One Song, an extensive music =
outreach program. He serves as artistic director for the Ovations! =
Concert Series, the Birmingham-First Chamber Choir, an annual church =
music workshop, and a seasonal series of Summer Sings.=20

Trenney completed two graduate degrees in 2002 at the Eastman School of =
Music in Rochester, N.Y. He holds a bachelor of music degree in organ =
performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music where he studied organ =
and church music with Todd Wilson, who played the inaugural concert on =
the restored organ.

Trenney has been awarded First Prize at several regional and national =
competitions, including the Redlands Organ Festival Competition, the San =
Marino Organ Competition, the John Rodland Memorial Church Music =
Scholarship Competition and the AGO Region V Competition for Young =
Organists. In July of 2006, Trenney became the first organist to win =
both the First Prize and Audience Prize in the American Guild of =
Organists' National Competition in Organ Improvisation. An active member =
of the American Guild of Organists (AGO), he has served on the national =
Committee on the New Organist and on the executive board of the Detroit =
Chapter.

Trenney has presented numerous programs around the country including =
solo recitals, duo recitals, hymn festivals, service playing workshops =
and master classes. He is in most frequent demand for his improvised =
accompaniments to silent films - including performances on the new =
Dobson organ at Philadelphia's Kimmel Center. His debut recording, =
Organa Americana, featuring works by American composers, was released on =
the Pro Organo label in June 2004. =20

Founded in 1856, Lake Erie College is a dynamic and progressive =
institution of higher education. The College offers 26 undergraduate =
majors, including new programs in sports management, forensic psychology =
and therapeutic horsemanship, as well as master's degrees in business =
