Announces Auditions For
Touring Production Before the Storm

Great Lakes Theater Festival (GLTF) announces open auditions
for non-equity actors for the community outreach touring production
Before the Storm, a one-act play conceived as a prequel to William
Shakespeare's The Tempest. This production, written by GLTF Education
Director Daniel Hahn, is developed in support of the Festival's spring
2007 mainstage production of The Tempest, and will tour to 20 community
venues in northern Ohio between March 9 and March 30, 2007. The play
will be directed by Daniel Hahn.

Needed are three actors (character ages, 20s-30s) to portray
the following roles: Caliban (male); Miranda (female); and Ariel
(female). Rehearsals begin Thursday, February 15, 2007, but preliminary
costume fittings will be scheduled in November 2006. All positions are
paid.

Those auditioning should bring a headshot and resume and
prepare two contrasting monologues, at least one of which must be
Shakespearean. Total audition time should not exceed three minutes.
Familiarity with Shakespeare's The Tempest is helpful but not
immediately required. Auditions will be held on Monday, November 6,
2006 from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. The audition sessions will take
place at Playhouse Square Center's West Rehearsal Hall, 1650 Chester
Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44114.
