Weekends on Waterloo is back with a better-than-ever event at the Arts Collinwood Gallery. This year’s invitational artists’ sale features 32 of the area’s top artists over three festive weekends. Collectors can find unique gifts of artwork from glass to photography, fine arts oil paintings to hand-made jewelry. And they can browse in a holiday ambience with wine, beer, light appetizers and great music every Friday evening, plus free cookies, cocoa, coffee and crafts for children every Saturday afternoon.

The sale is free and open to the public. Hours: Fridays and Saturdays, Dec. 1-16. Friday evenings 5-11 pm. Saturday afternoons 11-5.

And be sure to visit www.artscollinwood.org for more information on the holiday shop and also all the festive happenings in the downtown Waterloo district.

Venues throughout the area will be featuring holiday events and specials. Try the new beer and wine list at Fanny’s, or catch live accordion at the Slovenian Workmen’s Home’s famous Friday Fish Fry. Drop into Immanuel’s Second Saturday Coffee House, enjoy award-winning cuisine at the Grovewood Tavern, and wander over to the Beachland Ballroom to check out the holiday line-up.

If you hear great indie music playing at the artists’ sale, you can buy it up the street at MUSIC SAVES, and afterward satisfy your sweet-tooth with Agape Café’s peach melba while browsing the books. Make it a day or evening or weekend out in Cleveland’s hippest new emerging arts district, and enjoy the local flavor.

To explore the neighborhood, take I-90 to the E. 156th St. exit (westbound) or E. 152nd St exit (eastbound). Waterloo is one block north, and there’s lots happening between E. 152 and E. 161, as well as north on 156 to Grovewood.

To find the Arts Collinwood Gallery, head to the corner of E. 156 and Waterloo – 15605 Waterloo Rd., 216-692-9500.
