FESTIVAL OF LESSONS AND CAROLS

On Sunday December 17 at 10:30 a.m. Church of the Saviour in Cleveland =
Heights will present its annual Festival of Lessons and Carols which =
features Bible readings telling of the coming of Christ Jesus =
alternating with carols and special music. This popular service draws =
many people from the greater Cleveland community so it is good to come =
early to get a good seat. =20

The Prelude featuring Robert Day on the organ and the professional =
Tappan Brass Quintet from Oberlin begins at 10:15 a.m. followed by a =
dramatic processional of all seven choirs singing the ancient carol "On =
This Day, Earth Shall Ring" at 10:30 a.m.=20

During the service the Agape (Youth) Choir will sing a contemporary =
anthem called "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel" with trumpet and percussion.  =
Also in a contemporary vein, GOOD NEWS will sing "Comfort, Comfort Ye My =
People" which combines the ancient chant "Watchman, Tell Us of the =
Night" with a modern setting of the familiar advent text "Comfort Ye My =
People."=20

The combined children's choirs accompanied by flute will sing a lovely =
setting of "Infant Holy, Infant Lowly" called "Child of Peace" while the =
Chancel Choir will sharing a sparkling setting of Ding! Dong! Merrily On =
High arranged for piano four-hands by Howard Helvey.  A contrasting mood =
will be created when the Wesley (high school) Bells ring the American =
folk hymn "Jesus, Jesus, Rest Your Head." The Chancel Choir women will =
be featured in "There Is No Rose" from Benjamin Britten's Ceremony of =
Carols contrasted by "Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day" rung by the =
Bells of the Saviour.=20

The Festival concludes with over 80 singers combined in singing the =
stunning "Arise, Your Light Has Come" accompanied by organ, timpani and =
brass.

Church of the Saviour is located at 2537 Lee Road, one block North of =
Fairmount Blvd. in Cleveland Hts.  The church is handicapped-accessible =
