Seeking an African American actress or actress/poet for the title role =
of Nikki Giovanna for a Black History Month stage reading of "A Fire =
Inside - The story and poetry of Nikki Giovanni" by Susan Watson Turner. =
 It will be presented at the Cleveland Public Library downtown February =
14, 2006 in collaboration with Karamu House. The play is slated for
a world premier staging at this summer's Ingenuity Festival.

"A Fire Inside - The story and poetry of Nikki Giovanni" - Nikki =
Giovanni is a great and well known African American poet who was =
involved in the black arts movement during the 1970's. The award winning =
poets' work is portrayed by the ensemble that brings to life her =
intimate, edgy, and unapologetic narratives on stage. The ensemble takes =
us through a powerful transition from the early years of Giovanni's life =
through today.=20
