ody wide!=0A =0AI:  Ya think it=A2s gonna end, but no!  More of it suddenly=
 pops up to mock your sufferin=A2 and make ya wish for a chargin=A2 deer.=
=0A =0AM:  Mile after mile, it slowly eats away at your soul, leaving you t=
o doubt the very existence of God and, even worse, New Jersey.=0A =0AI:  Bu=
t still ya hope.  The Big Apple is out there, singin=A2 its loud, slightly =
incoherent song of welcome.  And ya drive, and ya drive, and ya stop ta pee=
, and ya drive, and ya drive and ya stop for a sobriety test.=0A =0AM:  I w=
arned you.=0A =0AI:  Shut up.  And ya drive, and ya drive, and ya just keep=
 drivin=A2 and FINALLY ya hit Manhattan, and ya immediately realize it look=
s a lot better in the movies.  Honestly, how many Starbucks does one city n=
eed?  I wasn=A2t jokin=A2 about one on every corner.  I wish ta hell I was.=
=0A =0AM:  Like most entertainment capitals, NYC is bright, cramped, overpr=
iced, and full of an exceptional amount of crap.  There are also several th=
ings that make it one of the greatest cities in the world.  One of them is =
the Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center.=0A =0AI:  I gotta ad=
mit, this was pretty cool.  Ya get a card, and it=A2s actually free, and th=
en ya can watch pretty much every show that has been on Broadway since the =
invention of videotape.  The catalogue is the size of Bobby Brown=A2s arres=
t record and THAT just goes ta 1996.=0A =0AM:  We watched the original 1979=
 cast of Sweeny Todd, starring Len Cariou and Angela Lansbury, the funniest=
 musical ever about revenge, incest, murder, and cannibalism.=0A =0AI:  Onl=
y problem I had with it was the makeup.  Some of the cast were covered in i=
t.  I think they were supposed ta look dead.  They looked like kabuki actor=
s.=0A =0AM:  We=A2re not kidding about this either.  They have everything. =
 =0A =0AI:  Can we get ta the other thing now?=0A =0AM:  Go right ahead.=0A=
 =0AI:  Bout time.  (Ahem) In my opinion, EVIL DEAD-THE MUSICAL IS THE SING=
LE GREATEST PIECE OF ENTERTAINMENT IN THE HISTORY OF HISTORY PERIOD.=0A =0A=
M:  Even better than Cats?=0A =0AI:  Fuck Cats.=0A =0APAUSE=0A =0AI:  Wow. =
 That felt good!=0A =0AM:  First off, we want to thank Matt Olmstead, Peter=
 Higgins, Jen Cipolla of the Karpel group, Christopher Bond, George Reinbla=
tt, Jennifer, Jenna, Renee, Tom, Ryan, Brandon, Darryl, and Amy.  You folks=
 have been quite nice to a couple of possibly non-existent critics and we g=
reatly appreciate it.  You are all higher life forms.=0A =0AI:  However, we=
=A2d still ya if the show sucked.  Thankfully, EVIL DEAD-THE MUSICAL IS THE=
 SINGLE GREATEST PIECE OF ENTERTAINMENT IN THE HISTORY OF HISTORY PERIOD.=
=0A =0AM:  Enough with the all caps.=0A =0AI:  I can=A2t help it.  I frakki=
n=A2 loved this show.=0A =0AM:  How do we love thee?  Let us count the ways=
.=0A =0AI:  Second row center, baby!=0A =0AM:  Thank you, Jen.=0A =0AI:  Mo=
st of the time we see a show; we=A2re sittin=A2 in the parkin=A2 lot!  We g=
o to New York; second row center!  I was glad we brought the t-shirts.=0A =
=0AM:  One of the things you quickly learn is that this is a good musical. =
 You actually remember more than one of the songs when you walk out.=0A =0A=
I:  What The Fuck was That?  Man on man tango!  Gotta love it.  And ya just=
 gotta love a show whose closing number is called You Blew That Bitch Away.=
  =0A =0AM:  Each song is a different style, and the lyrics are either real=
ly witty or really vulgar, usually both.=0A =0AI:  There=A2s an onstage dis=
embowelment.  An onstage disembowelment, and I have no clue how they did it=
.=0A =0AM:  Besides being surprised at just how good the songs were, I was =
equally surprised at just how funny the book is.  You get some very witty s=
atire on the Evil Dead films, horror films in general, and musical theatre.=
  You also get more than your share of dick and fart jokes.  And everything=
 works.  I was actually in pain from laughing so hard.=0A =0AI:  The last h=
alf hour is one big dance/fight/gorefest.  There=A2s stuff goin=A2 on and c=
omin=A2 off the stage in all directions.  It=A2s the busiest and bloodiest =
thing I=A2ve seen in years. =0A =0AM:  We saw the show on December 15th (Th=
e late show) and there were a lot of people from Ohio in the splatter zone,=
 which was a nice surprise.=0A =0AI:  Couple of people recognized us, one g=
uy few rows behind kept sayin=A2 we were nothin=A2 but a big gay joke.=0A =
=0AM:  What was he talking about?=0A =0AI:  I have no idea.  Anyway, back t=
a the show.  It=A2s just so frakkin=A2 GOOD!=0A =0AM:  The cast is absolute=
ly perfect in their roles.  Perfect.  They=A2re all playing it to the hilt,=
 and they=A2re obviously having a good time doing it.=0A =0AI:  Tom Walker =
steals it.=0A =0AM:  Oh, here we go!=0A =0AI:  Evil Ed looks like he=A2s ju=
st havin=A2 so much fun dancin=A2 and spewin=A2 gore.  He comes off as a li=
ttle kid demon.  Not a bad kid, but he may have been thrown down the baseme=
nt stairs a few too many times.  He tries hard though.  It=A2s great!  And =
he plays the moose!=0A =0AM:  Has Orlando Bloom been replaced?=0A =0AI:  He=
ll, I=A2d do anybody in the cast in their demon outfits.=0A =0AM:  Non-demo=
n?=0A =0AI:  Tom and Jenna.=0A =0AM:  I=A2m sure they=A2re going to love th=
at.  And to end all the comparisons, we agree with the lyrics to Do the Nec=
ronomicon.  It is like the Time Warp.=0A =0AI: What?=0A =0AM:  Only better.=
=0A =0AI:  The effects run the gamut from as cheesy as they wanna be ta so =
good you=A2re gonna spend days wonderin=A2 how they did it.  The scalpin=A2=
 is just too cool for words.=0A =0AM:  What makes Evil Dead work so well is=
 that, while it has bright lights in the big city and while it=A2s flashy a=
nd full of choreography (Which is exactly what the Broadway audience expect=
s) it is also rude, crude, socially unattractive, and actually funny (Somet=
hing they never expect).  This show is a big middle finger to the New York =
theatre scene.  It doesn=A2t follow the rules in any way shape or form and =
we are glad for it.=0A =0AI:  And it=A2s FUN!  It=A2s actually fun!  How of=
ten have ya seen a show and really, really enjoyed yourself, so much so tha=
t ya want ta see it again before ya even get ta intermission.=0A =0AM:  Sim=
ply put, Evil Dead must be seen.  Period.  You will never see another show =
like it in your life and, for that reason alone, it is worth the unending b=
