TrueNorth Cultural Arts is pleased to offer an expanded curriculum for
Winter Term taught by a team of teaching professionals with a involved
dedication to the arts. The TrueNorth teaching staff is comprised of
national and internationally prominent professional artists, vocalists,
musicians, dancers and theatrical performers; eager to share their expertise
and experience.
Offering numerous class and private instruction in the performing arts,
music and visual arts with monthly student and professional art exhibits in
the TrueNorth Gallery, in addition to orchestral, choral and theatrical
performances throughout the year and meeting art requirements for home
schooling families, makes TrueNorth northeast Ohios preferred Cultural Arts
Center.
The Performing Arts Department presents classes in Dance, offering classical
instruction in Traditional Russian Ballet and Tap to Hip Hop and Dance Club
with opportunities to perform and compete throughout the year. In addition,
classes are offered in Chinese Tai Chi, Sign Language, and Creative Drama
for those with special needs. Our Theatre Department provides instruction
for all ages from preschool to seniors in Acting, Improv, Scene Study, Story
Theatre, Musical Theatre and Creative Dramatics.
Preschool experiences are offered through the Early Childhood Music Program
and Children/Youth opportunities in its Children Chorus and Orchestra
programs. Lessons in Music Theory, Voice, Piano, String, Brass, Percussion
and Woodwind Instruments are available; as well as, the TrueNorth Chorale
and Symphony, Community Chorus, Stage Band, Saxophone Quartet/Quintet and
Woodwind Ensemble; offering opportunities for beginning, intermediate and
professional musicians.
In Visual Arts, instruction is provided in Watercolor, Printmaking, Drawing,
Painting, Glass Fusing, Stained Glass, Mosaic, Pastels, Cartooning, Paper
Making, Multimedia, Ceramics, Beading. New to TrueNorth this term is
instruction in computer skills; ranging from basic computer skills and
photography for youths to Ebay and Powerpoint classes for adults.
TrueNorth Cultural Arts, a multi-disciplinary arts organization, is
committed to building and strengthening individuals and the community
through the performing arts, the visual arts and the humanities. TrueNorths
vision is two-fold: To educate, equip and empower individuals so they can
embrace and succeed in the creative arts, and to envision and encourage a
community where creative arts and art appreciation flourish.
Winter Term begins January 8th and runs through the end of March, 2007.
Registration is currently taking place at the TrueNorth Gallery located at
33491 Lake Road in Avon Lake. The Gallery is open 12:00 noon 7 pm,
weekdays, 9:00 am 4 pm Saturdays and closed on Sundays.
