Seeking NON-UNION Background Extras, to work outdoors every night starting January 23rd, and returning January 24, 25, 26, 29 and 30. Call time will be approximately 1PM, and shooting until the sun starts to come up, should be done by 6AM. 

This will be filming at the South Street Seaport in downtown Manhattan.  THOSE OF YOU FROM OUT OF STATE OR WHO ARE NOT LOCAL, TRANSPORTATION AND LODGING IS NOT PROVIDED. MEALS WILL BE PROVIDED ON-SET.

We need people that will really commit and work every night - we can't be replacing people every day. You need a really good excuse to not come back if you ever want to hear from us again. If you like a lot of sleep, or like to go on auditions all day, or if you hate the cold, maybe this isn't the job for you. Literally, the shoot is OUTSIDE, ALL NIGHT, no questions asked. It won't change. If it snows the first night we will still shoot, but if it rains that could be reason for postponement. 

You can dress warm, you can wear thermals and sweaters and boots and coats - although the costume department does not want a sea of big black puffy coats - so, if they don't like your coat they might make you change into one of their coats for the duration of the shoot. 

Also, every Background Extra may be asked to bring one prop to the set, like a suitcase on wheels, duffle bag, back pack, as if you've packed up and trying to leave the island. 

In your email submission please detail what you own that you may be able to bring. Remember, no big logos printed on any luggage or coat. 

Everyone must have valid ID's (either a copy of a passport, or 2 of the following: driver's license, SS card, birth certificate, voter ID, military card). 

There will be food and warming tents.

  Once you arrive, you will be confirmed on a Casting List and will be given a color-code and number for access on-set. This signifies that you are on the list and with Xist Agency.

Pay is $75 base per night, with overtime after 10 hours. If you do end up working 15 hours you should have at least $125.00 per night (before taxes, and 10% agency commission and you are paid with a check in the mail from production, turnaround time is give or take 2 weeks).

If you have a child that wants to work (7-13 years old), one parent must be with that child, and that parent will be with that child (or children) the whole time, and that parent will leave with that child by midnight. Also, call time for that adult and child will be around 3:30PM, so they can still go to school (and bring their homework to set). 

Make sure you put in your email information about the child or children you would want to work. Kids must have work permits (free and available to print out at www.labor.state.ny.us under Child Performer Center- the first day of the shoot you should print out the 15 day temporary permit if you don't already have a 6 month permit) and UTMA or UGMA trust bank accounts, and ID. 

We will need to mass email the day prior to the shoot to give definite confirmations. And we will have a phone check-line to call if you do not have email access. 

You can  consider yourself booked if you submit per the guidelines. If we get your email we'll automatically put you on the list.  

If there are any major changes between now and then, we will mass email everyone who submits. 

If you submit for the waiting list, and then find out that you have become unavailable for the shoot, you must email us again and put CANCEL LIST in the subject line. 

Please help us make this a successful shoot and not a nightmare. We know it will be long, cold, and tiring, but that's showbiz!
