RUSSIAN NATIONAL BALLET DIRECTOR TO TEACH MASTER CLASS JAN. 23

CANAL FULTON - The artistic director of the Russian National Ballet
Foundation will teach a master ballet class this month at The Turning Pointe
School of Dance.

Valery Lantratov, who has toured internationally with Rudolf
Nureyev, will teach a master class Jan. 23 at the dance school, 2387 Locust
St. S., Canal Fulton. All Intermediate II and Advanced ballet students in
the area are welcome to the 5:30-7 p.m. class, and pointe variation is 7-8
p.m. The technique class is $20 and the pointe class is $15. Registration is
requested but not required. Call 330-854-1417. Visit
www.turningpointeschoolofdance.net.

Like Inna Stabrova and Dmitry Tuboltsev, artistic directors of
the Ohio Youth Ballet housed at The Turning Pointe, Lantratov hopes to share
the art of dance with new audiences.

Lantratov has received accolades from the press for his strong
technique, personality and expressiveness. He recently made international
headlines for his role as Czar Nicholas II in a controversial production of
the ballet Rasputin, which premiered in St. Petersburg. He has danced in the
companies of Vladimira Vasilieva, Maya Plitsetskaya and Ekaterina Maximova.
He also has toured as a solo guest artist in Japan, Germany, Italy, France,
Portugal, the United States and other countries.

The Russian National Ballet Foundation, which Lantratov formed
in 1993, has toured in Europe, Asia, The Middle East and the United States.
Lantratov has a teaching certificate from Russia's renowned National Academy
of Theatrical Arts- GITIS. For three years, he served as a guest instructor
at the Boston Ballet.
