 Mighty Goliath Productions (MGP), Avon Lake community musical theater group in residence at the Daniel B. Ross Performing Arts Center, had it's first rehearsal last Friday at the TrueNorth Cultural Arts Center in Avon Lake. This group that meets once a year is preparing "Anything Goes" to be presented April 19, 20, 21, & 22, 2007. They only rehearse once a week as many community choruses and church choirs do. However, they rehearse on Fridays for almost 4 hours with singing, blocking and dancing rehearsals going on concurrently. It's a bustling atmosphere.

 This company is unique with mostly adults making up the cast and chorus and some teenagers. The chorus is open to all. They live up to their 'Goliath' name. As in any community group, they could use a few more guys in the chorus. If you're interested in becoming involved, the last time you can join for this season is this Friday at 7:00. January rehearsals take place at the northwest end of Avon Lake at the TrueNorth Cultural Arts Center in the complex that has the old Avon Lake Theater in it. (The sign is still there. It's huge. You can't miss it!) The address is 33491 Lake Road, Avon Lake.
