Bobby Streng is an active saxophonist, composer, and arranger of all genres
of music. With his new group, the Saxemble, Bobby fuses his backgrounds in
classical, funk, jazz,
and rock into an exciting live experience fueled by the sound and
improvisation of a powerful five man saxophone front. While the ensemble
that he has constructed is tight and well rehearsed, it is the uniqueness of
each player’s voice that will impress audiences most. The Saxemble boasts
eight talented and experienced members: Bobby Streng, Pat Seymour, Mark
Keim, Mike Hiemstra, Dan Puccio on saxophones, Jonathan Ovalle on keyboards,
Matt Henninger on bass and Nick Adams on drums. With their unique sound,
scores of original music, and an ultra-high energy live show, the Bobby
Streng Saxemble breathes a new life into the world of instrumental music.

Bobby performed under Maestro Leonard Slatkin for the 2006 Grammy Award
winning Noxos Records release of William Bolcom’s epic: “Songs of Innocence
and Experience.” As a member of the Larry Teal Saxophone Quartet, he
recorded a live version of Michael Colgrass’ “Urban Requiem:” released in
2004 on Equilibrium Records. As a jazz and pop artist, Bobby has
collaborated and performed with artists such as Hank Jones, Chris Potter,
Sunny Wilkinson, Terrel Stafford, and the Ojay’s. His Big Band
compositional collaboration with jazz piano legend Hank Jones for the 2004
University of Michigan Jazz festival was released in 2005 on University
Records.
