The Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM) Women's Committee will bring the incomparable Bobby McFerrin to Severance Hall to perform with and conduct the CIM Orchestra on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at 8:30 p.m., his first performance since a yearlong sabbatical.

A ten-time Grammy Award winner, Bobby McFerrin is one of the world's best-known vocal innovators and improvisers, a world-renowned classical conductor, a passionate spokesperson for music education and the creator of "Don't Worry Be Happy," one of the most popular songs of the late 20th century. His recordings have sold more than 20 million copies, and his collaborations with Yo-Yo Ma, Chick Corea, the Vienna Philharmonic and Herbie Hancock have established him as an ambassador of both the classical and jazz worlds. He has also worked frequently with such orchestras as the London Philharmonic, the Chicago Symphony, The Cleveland Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra and the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, where he held the post of Creative Chair.
