Kent Trumbull Theatre is proud to present our upcoming auditions for 
Dead Man Walking.  Based on the film of the same name, and written by 
Tim Robbins for his DMW Theatre Project, this play will be part of a 
campus wide dialogue on the death penalty.  We are in need of ten men 
(aged 13-50+) and eight women (aged 16-50+).  Actors will read from 
the script. The roles of Matt Poncelet and Helen Prejean have been 
cast. Auditions will take place on Jan 24 and 25 from 7-9pm.

CASSIDY THEATRE ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR =E2=80=9CVIOLET=E2=80=9D MUSICAL


Parma Heights - The Cassidy Theatre will hold auditions for the musical Vio=
let on Sunday January 28th starting at 6:30p and Monday, January 29th at 7p=
 at the theatre located at 6200 Pearl Rd. Call-Backs will be Thursday, Febr=
uary 1st at 7pm also at the theatre. The Cassidy production of this acclaim=
ed Off-Broadway hit will open for a three-week run on June 1st and will be =
Directed by Geoffrey Short with Musical Direction by Larry Goodpaster.

Anyone interested in auditioning and in character descriptions can learn mo=

Auditioners are encouraged to e-mail the Director at geoffshort at sbcglobal.n=
et to schedule an audition time.  Two contrasting contemporary musical thea=
tre songs should be prepared. Please bring sheet music in the correct key. =
An accompanist will be provided. There will not be a dance audition. Please=
 prepare a brief contemporary theatre monologue. If you have headshots and =
resumes, please bring them as well.

Set in 1964 in the Deep South during the early days of the Civil Rights Mov=
ement, =E2=80=9CViolet=E2=80=9D follows the growth and enlightenment of a b=
itter young woman accidentally scarred by her father. In hopes that a TV ev=
angelist can cure her, she embarks on a journey by bus from her sleepy Nort=
h Carolina town to Oklahoma. Along the way, she meets two soldiers =E2=80=
=93 one white and one black -  who teach her about beauty, love, courage an=
d what it means to be an outsider.

One of the most acclaimed off-Broadway shows of the late=E2=80=9990s, =E2=
=80=9CViolet=E2=80=9D astounded critics and audiences with its powerful sto=
ry, its energetic, toe-tapping Gospel, Rock, Country, and Rhythm and Blues =
score by Jeanine Tesori, and its well-crafted book and lyrics by Brian Craw=
ley that are not afraid to deal with important, sensitive issues.
