        The Cleveland Improv Institute in association with Cleveland Jams! Cleveland's Weekly Improv Comedy Jam is proud to announce its new Improv Workshop Series "Improv Shots!" 
   
  Improv Shots! was created for every student  interested in learning and participating in Improvisational Comedy Theater Classes but cannot commit to an 8 week session all at once.  Each workshop is a 1 day 3 hour shot of concentrated improv study that looks at the  Elements of Improvisation to Scene Creation to Advanced Improv Techniques.  New workshops will be added in the future that will include: Musical Improvisation, Sketch Writing, Improv in Standup and Longform Styles.
   
  All workshops cost $60.00 and are taught by some of the best instructors, directors, performers working in the entertainment arena today!  All workshops are open to everyone from the beginner to the advanced improv actor/actress and everyone in between!  Improv Shots! will begin in February with our first workshop, Elements of Improvisation taught by our Director of Curriculum Mitchell Fields.

  ELEMENTS OF IMPROVISATION  (EI 07)  INSTRUCTOR: Mitchell Fields

  Step into the world of the unpredictable...improvisational comedy!  This three hour workshop opens the doors of Improvisational Comedy Theater to all that want to know more.  Become acquainted with the improv trilogy (who, what and where).  Through fun, exciting and challenging games you will begin to learn why these 3 elements are the backbone of any great improvised scene and you will be able to apply them in your own work!  Director of Curriculum Mitchell Fields takes you the student on a fantastic journey of fun and exploration!  This workshop is open to all interested in Improvisational Comedy!
   
      SCENE CREATION  (SC 07)  INSTRUCTOR: Marc Moritz
  Monday 3/5/07  7:00-10:00pm  Kennedy's at Playhouse Square
   
  You and your partner are co-workers stranded on a remote island... ready go!  
  Seems like a daunting task to create a scene rich with characters, environment, physical action, emotional reality, raised stakes, conflict and always staying in the moment out of those 2 given circumstances.  Within this 3 hour workshop you will begin to understand and apply these elements together to form scenes.  You will come to learn that scenes are not just 2 people talking they are much more than that.  Scene creation is life created before your eyes!  This workshop is for new as well as old students to the art form with a desire to perfect there scene work and scene creation skills.
         
   
      ADVANCED IMPROV TECHNIQUES  (AIT 07)  INSTRUCTOR Jeffrey Lyn Hall
  Saturday 3/3/07 1:00-4:00pm  Kennedy's at Playhouse Square
   
  This 3 hour workshop is an ever-changing menu designed for the advanced training of the seasoned improv actor/actress.  Students will have the opportunity to focus on one specific area for intensive training each and every (AIT) workshop.  On stage performance and hands on training from some of the best improv instructors in the business will be  your classroom.  This workshop is for the seasoned improv actor/actress looking to advance his or her skill and performance level. 
  ***Concentration of this first AIT workshop is (Relationships and working truthfully in the moment). Solid relationships create stronger scenes that move forward.  If you are unsure about your relationship to your partner how can you (the actor/actress) live, work, react and respond to them within the scene truthfully and in the moment?  This specific element will be intensely worked on and studied in this AIT workshop.***
