     Maybe we watched  different versions of "The Secret."  The one I watched quoted Mother Theresa saying, " If you have an anti-war march, I won't come.  If you have a march for peace, I will be there."  The whole point is for us to stop putting our energy into fighting what we don't want and working instead on what we do want - to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, teach, heal, create equality in the justice system, etc.,  instead of critizing, blaming, complaining, defaming, and acting powerless to change things.  By always choosing to act in a positive instead of oppositional, reactionary way.  This was a part of Ghandi's and MLK's non-violent methodology.  
       All I can tell you is that it has opened my eyes to how much more effective my communication is when I see a problem as a challenge that I have the power to turn into a win-win situation, not one where somebody has to be wrong/lose and somebody is right/wins.  It has encouraged me to believe that I can make a difference in this world, that I can work for social change and help others.  It's not a matter of "if you have problems it's your own damn fault" because again, that's just the blame game, that doesn't change anything.  It's about understanding that change begins inside-"be the change you wish to see in the world."  Jesus didn't say, "It's the Roman's fault that the people are poor and hungry."  He saw 5,000 hungry people, 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish and said, "let's bless this food, give thanks for it, and start passing it out." It's about believing in the unlimited power of our intentions and the unlimited power of the universe to honor them.
