Cleveland Art Theatre presents the Easter Season Favorite “Oh, Mary, Don’t You Weep, a musical drama compiled by Margaret Ford-Taylor and Joyce M. Meadows, directed by Margaret Ford-Taylor with music arranged and directed by Maestro Glenn Brackens.
In this rousing musical tribute, the six Marys of the New Testament give witness to the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This joyous testament to the triumph of the human spirit features well-known gospel artists Eva Blount, as Mary the Mother of Jesus; Lucretia Bolden as Mary the mother of John Mark; Susan Hughes as Mary of Galilee; Evangelist Shirley Cain Johnson as Mary of Bethany; J. Elaine Linzy as Mary Magdelene and Joyce M. Meadows as Mary, wife of Cleophus.
Oh Mary, Don’t You Weep is scheduled for Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. with Saturday and Sunday matinees at 4:00 p.m., March 23RD through Easter Sunday, April 8th at Cleveland State’s Factory Theatre on East 24th between Chester and Payne Avenues.
Opening night, Friday, March 23rd is “Red Carpet Night,” a Dinner & Theatre fund raiser in support of Cleveland Art Theatre. Tickets for Red Carpet Night are: Friends, $60.00; Patrons, $75.00; Individual Sponsors, $100 with $500 and $1,000 Corporate Sponsorships. General admission for the rest of the run is $25.00.
