(March 2, 2007, Akron, Ohio...For Immediate Release) Weathervane =
Playhouse invites you to come and help us rock the house with SMOKEY =
JOE'S CAF=C9 in production March 21 - April 15, 2007. With music by =
Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, Smokey Joe's Caf=E9 celebrates the work =
of the songwriting team responsible for a string of hits rooted in the =
Rhythm and Blues tradition including Hound Dog (recorded by Big Mama =
Thornton, then Elvis Presley), Why Do Fools Fall in Love?, Young Blood, =
Love Potion #9 and On Broadway. They are credited with writing some of =
the hottest songs of the '50s and '60s.

Playing for four years (1995-1999), Smokey Joe's Caf=E9 became =
Broadway's longest-running revue. It has everything to do with Rhythm =
and Blues and Rock 'n' Roll with a dash of Doo-Wop thrown in for good =
measure. So, be-bop and stomp your way to the Valley to spend a couple =
of hours down memory lane.

SMOKEY JOE'S CAF=C9 at Weathervane Playhouse March 21 - April 25. =
Low-cost preview performances are on Wednesday and Thursday, March 21 =
and 22 at 7:30 p.m. with official opening on Friday, March 23 at 8:00 =
p.m. Other performances are Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays and =
Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. No performance Sunday, =
March 25 or Thursday April 12. Charge by phone at Weathervane's Ticket =
Office at 330-836-2626. Call between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Tuesday =
through Friday. Tickets: $20 (Other Tickets: Wed. & Thurs previews $14, =
Students 17 or younger $16, College Students and Senior Citizens $18 on =

The production is recommended for general audiences age 14 or older.
