Agatha Christie's "A Murder is Announced."
Adapted for the stage by Leslie Darbon.
Directed by Jim Fippin.

Production dates are May 31 - June 23, 2007.
Needed are five men and seven women.
The play takes place in England, in the village of Chipping Cleghorn
sometime after the Second World War. The characters are English (mostly) so
bring your dialects.
Those auditioning are asked to read from the script.
The following character descriptions are directly from the play and are
intended to provide an impression of characters not any kind of hard and
fast casting requirement.
* Letitia Blacklock - She is beyond middle-aged, but still a very
attractive woman who clearly looked after her figure and features.
* Julia Simmons - She is Miss Blacklock's niece. She is 25 or 26
years old.
* Dora Bunner (Bunny) - She is slightly older than Miss Blacklock is.
* Patrick Simmons - He is Julia's brother. He is a year older than
his sister and a very handsome young man.
* Mitzi - She is Miss Blacklock's housekeeper and cook. She is about
25 or 26, small and dark with a mid-European (Hungary, Romania or
Yugoslavia) accent.
* Miss Marple - She is an elderly lady with an over inquisitive mind
which gets her into all sorts of trouble.
* Phillipa Haymes - She is a tall, rather elegant looking
blonde-haired woman of about 26 with a touch of real class about her. A
young woman with a rather serious turn of mind.
* Mrs. Swettenham - She is a woman in her late fifties.
* Edmund Swettenham - He is Mrs. Swettenham's son. He is 26 or 27, a
serious young man with pretensions of being a writer. He is dark and
somewhat foreign looking, although he is in fact very English.
* Rudi Schertz - He is a young Swiss national.
* Inspector Craddock - He is a man of about fifty.
* Sergeant Mellors - He is the inspector's trusty right hand.
