<P>TrueNorth is very pleased to announce their sponsorship of NE Ohio Dance Committee’s  “Day of Dance” as part of National Dance Week on Sunday, April 29th, 2007 at Westlake Performing Arts located at 27830 Hilliard Road in Westlake. </P>

<P>National Dance Week which runs from April 21st-29th, 2007 was established more than 25 years ago with a mission to bring awareness to the public as to the many benefits of dance. Margaret Holden founded the organization for Northeast Ohio 8 years ago after moving to the area from Tennessee, where she also established a chapter. As many as 18 performance ensembles have performed on the “Day of Dance”. Professional and pre-professional ensembles, in such dance forms as modern, tap, ballet, jazz, ethnic/folk have joined in their efforts to bring about the mission of the organization. </P>

<P>This year the “Day of Dance” is a celebration of dance that will include coloring and essay contests and master classes in Ballet, Modern, Flamenco, Swing, Middle Eastern and Hip Hop. 20 area dance ensembles will perform that day culminating with a reception/social dance with music by Mike Petrone and his band. </P>

<P>In addition to the “Day of Dance” on April 29th, Barnes & Noble in Crocker Park will be hosting a BookFair fundraiser on April 28th to benefit TrueNorth Cultural Arts. A percentage of sales made on April 28th to individuals presenting a voucher will go to benefit TrueNorth. Parents and children of all ages are invited to Barnes & Noble in Crocker Park for story time with Angelina BallerinaTM the national “Spokes Character” for National Dance Week and multi-disciplinary performances and activities by TrueNorth artists, performers and musicians from 9:00am – 11:00pm. </P>

<P>TrueNorth is a multidisciplinary arts organization committed to building and strengthening individuals and the community through the performing arts, the visual arts and the humanities.
