Ladies and Gentlemen, children of all ages, welcome to Moleville.
Moleville is a quiet little mound located in a peaceful country setting
where mounds of dirt are common place and critters scurry about to and
fro going about their daily business without too much to worry about.
But alas, there are two sides to Moleville. There’s the Fitville Side
and the Fatville Side. And what happens when the Queen Mother Hamburger
begins to threaten Fitville? Can they resist? And what happens when the
creatures of Fatville grow too large for their houses? Will they be able
to get up off their couches and expand into Fitville? The answers lie in
the next New World Children’s Theatre Production set to open at the
historic Kent Stage in downtown Kent on Friday, May 18, at 7:30pm.

Thank you to Tom and Richelle of The Kent Stage for allowing us to use
the historic theatre while the African Community Theatre undergoes its
renovation.

Caution, random acts of singing and dancing are committed during this
performance.

Hope you can make it.

New World Children’s Theatre: 1993-2007
Description

Our programming at Standing Rock Cultural Arts involves many activities
for children including The New World Children’s Theatre which wll be
performing its 22nt production the week-end of May 18. The New World
Children’s Theatre program is comprised of up to 20 children, 7-17, who
are involved in writing, acting, designing, and promoting an original
theatrical production.

The New World Children’s Theater began as The New World Puppet Theater
at the North Water Street Gallery in Kent, Ohio, in January of 1993.
Originally, it was comprised of home-school children. Throughout the
years , however, it has grown to include public-schooled children as well.

Eventually, the troupe outgrew the puppets and the ensemble became The
New World Children’s Theater, which has produced 20 plays since 1994. In
addition to the emphasis on original playwriting, the company is
dedicated to using recycled materials in the construction of its sets
and props. This fosters an understanding of a sustainable planet as well
as an understanding of how to work with limited resources. The only
requirement is an active imagination.

The New World Children’s Theatre is always looking for donations to
support students of low income families as well as our ongoing
activities. Donations are tax deductible and can be made to Standing
Rock Cultural Arts, 257 N. Water St., Kent Ohio 44240.

Thank you for supporting the kids,

Jeff Ingram/Director
New World Children’s Theatre
