*The NY =96 Cleveland Conspiracy*

*Monthly Artistic Workshops To Be Taught by New York and ClevelandProfessio=
nals
*

This summer company members from the New York theatre company Slightly Aske=
w
will invite high school students from all over the Cleveland area to
participate in artistic workshops in film, photography, sound design,
costuming, movement, music, and animation using as inspiration the
historical Lakewood neighborhood known by locals as *Birdtown*.

Each monthly session scheduled for June, July, and August of 2007 (with
other year-round sessions to follow) will introduce students to using
various artistic media in exploring *Birdtown*. After six months of work
using disposable cameras, tape recorders, sketch pads, video cameras,
recorded interviews, and a multitude of other inquiry-based processes,
Slightly Askew will host a NY-Cleveland Conspiracy Festival where the
company members will aid students in bringing all of the elements which the=
y
have learned about together to create their own multi-media installations.

This summer's workshops will include "*My Name is ____: Experiments in
Performance, Photography, and Character, *a workshop that fuses photography=
,
costume, and performance; *"360 Degree Documentary," *a documentary class
where students will learn the art of documentary film making and improvisin=
g
narrative on camera; and "*Conspirator of the Camera: Making Movies*," a
week-long workshop where students will review the basic techniques behind
making a film and will have the opportunity to create their very own short.

All summer workshops are limited to 25 high school students. For informatio=
n
on fees, available scholarships, and registration please contact Meryl
Murman and Lisa Siciliano at NYClevelandConspiracy at slightlyaskew.org. For
