BECK CENTER ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR

HOLY GHOSTS

BY ROMULUS LINNEY

DIRECTED BY MATTHEW WRIGHT

Auditions for Romulus Linney's HOLY GHOSTS will take place on June 24 and 25
(Sunday and Monday) at The Beck Center, 17801 Detroit Avenue, Lakewood, OH.

Audition slots will begin at 7:00 both nights.

HOLY GHOSTS is the often funny, moving and riveting tale of the denizens of
an Appalachian Pentecostal church whose members swill strychnine, speak in
tongues and handle serpents in the practice of their religion. The central story
involves a young woman's struggle with the realities of marriage to a broken
and thoughtless man and follows her journey as she questions the true meaning of
faith. The play has a cast of 15 characters, all of them gems. This is an
opportunity for character actors of all ages to practice their craft in a
wonderfully written play full of interesting and challenging material.

NEEDED: 15 actors of all ages (18-70+), races and ethnic backgrounds.

ACTORS SHOULD PREPARE: a short, contemporary monologue and a bit of a hymn or
ballad to sing a capella. [ it is preferred that actors have prepared
material; however, if you do not have a monologue prepared, you may read a selection
from the script which will be provided at the audition.] Also, if you play an
instrument and would like to do so as part of your audition, feel free! Piano
players and guitar players are especially sought!!!!

REHEARSALS WILL BEGIN: during the week of August 20.

THE PLAY OPENS: September 28 and closes October 21, with performances on
Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons.

Casting is open to Equity and non-Equity actors. All actors over the age of
18 will be paid.
ALL roles are open.

PLEASE CALL (216) 521-2540 TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT
