V-Day: Until the Violence Stops Northeast Ohio
Sunday, June 17 - Sunday, July 1, 2007

In June 2006, V-Day produced the first ever UNTIL THE VIOLENCE STOPS festival in New York City. The festival, which successfully took over the five boroughs of the city and invited New Yorkers to stand up and join V-Day in making New York City the safest place on earth for women and girls, was designed to be replicated in cities around the world.
V-Day is pleased to announce V-Day: Until The Violence Stops: Northeast Ohio taking place Sunday, June 17 - Sunday, July 1. The festival is produced through a collaboration of Queen Bee Productions of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and Women's Network's Women Central Project. Pre festival events have already raised funds and awareness about violence against women and girls in the area and brought the issues facing women both here and abroad to women and men throughout the state. Deb Lemire, a V-Day organizer since 2002, has done an incredible job of bringing the Ohio communities together to focus on ending the violence and garnering publicity and support from local press and organizations.
One such organization, the Cleveland Indians joined Deb and Until The Violence Stops: Northeast Ohio on June 6th to announce that they were standing up to end the violence. The full team have put their name to ending violence against women and girls and will help celebrate Until The Violence Stops: Northeast Ohio at the finale taking place at Jacob's Field. For the full article on the Indians' press conference please click here: http://www.vday.org/contents/vday/press/media/0706131
We encourage everyone in or near the area to celebrate V-Day and show their support to ending violence against women and girls by attending the incredible lineup of events taking place during Until The Violence Stops: Northeast Ohio. To view the full calendar please visit: www.utvsneo.org.
Tickets may be purchased from participating organizations listed at www.utvsneo.org or by downloading an order form at www.utvsneo.org. Ticket sales directly benefit women and girls in the community.
