BOOTH
  by Ohio native Austin Pendleton
  Directed by Carl Whidden
  http://www.csuohio.edu/theater/

BOOTH by Austin Pendleton, the story within the story of the famous family made infamous by the 1865 assassination of Abraham Lincoln, opens this weekend at the CSU Repertory Theatre on East 24th Street between Chester and Payne Avenues.

Pay-what-you-can preview night is Thursday, June 21st. Friday, June 22nd is opening night with a Champagne meet-and-greet reception with the cast following the performance. Curtain for both Thursday and Friday is 8:00 p.m. General admission is $15.00. Tickets available at 216.241.5555

At the play’s center, the father, Junius, is the larger-than-life leading actor of American
Theatre. An illness forces his youngest son, Edwin, to stand in for his ailing father, propelling the youngest Booth to instant stardom and igniting a feuding rivalry between father and son both on and off the stage. Peripherally, we view the destructive influences that foreshadow middle son John Wilkes’ catastrophic placement in history.

Also, don't forget to catch THE ROBBER BRIDEGROOM by Alfred Uhry and Robert Waldman, directed by BOOTH star Dr. Michael L. Mauldin.

Featuring stars full of "innocence and desire", directed with "unfettered glee", and a "no holds-barred performance [by Everett Quinton] that must be seen to be believed" (Plain Dealer) the show reflects "precisely the kind of bright future that the promising CSU summer project will... build on."
