If you don't want the position, then don't take it! Also "refer to the vari=
ous postings and discussions... regarding 'perform for free'." I believe th=
is is a free and open site for everyone to find gigs. I do watch for the lo=
w to no pay gigs for my young but great students to get the experience they=
need to get hired for pay later by those same music directors. So keep it =
up everyone! You must never have worked (for pay or not for pay) for Mr. Ca=
raffi if you think he doesn't care for his musicians. Leave it alone is my =
suggestion. At that, I am done and will leave this discussion alone. I said=
my opinion and that won't change.
=20
And, sorry Michael, I don't have my doubling students in town right now. Ev=
en my great single instrument students are busy during that time. Like I sa=
id. I love that show, and it would be a blast to do!

To Mr. Caraffi - please refer to all of the various postings and discussion=
s that have gone on here at Fred's fine sessions regarding 'perform for fre=
e'. If your theatre budget doesn't allow for pay for a pit orchestra, then=
you probably need to rethink the shows that you're putting on. There are =
many fine non-musical, or limited instrumentation shows that can be staged =
with a minimal budget..
=20
The fact that you do have some budget ("max $125/musician") causes me to th=
ink that you don't particularly value the time, expense, and effort that al=
l of the musicians that I know of expend on a regular basis.
=20
Please, don't insult us in the manner of your posting.
