Arts in the Cathedral (Church of the Saviour in Cleveland Hts.) will be =
presenting Gian Carlo Menotti's chamber opera Amahl and the Night =
Visitors  on Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 8 at 4:00 p.m. =20

This 45 minute opera tells the touching story of a lame shepherd boy who =
lives in poverty with his widowed mother.  In the middle of the night a =
knock at the door announces a visit from the three Kings following the =
star in search of the Christ Child. Flustered, the mother sends Amahl to =
ask their neighbors to bring gifts and to dance for the Kings. An act of =
selflessness changes the lives of Amahl and his mother forever.

AUDITIONS FOR THE ROLE OF THE MOTHER will be held BY APPOINTMENT on =
Saturday July 28 and Thursday August 2nd.=20
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:
1) One song of your choice, memorized in English (An accompanist will be =
provided, please bring music.)
2) The aria "All that gold" from Amahl (pp. 50-52 in the piano vocal =
score) This does NOT need to be memorized. Music for this song can be =
picked up from the church office in advance.
