On Friday, September 7th from 5 to 9 p.m., Gallery M, part of the Cleveland=20
Art Quarter, will host a reception for its fall show entitled =E2=80=9COmina=
tion.=E2=80=9D =20
Featured in the show will be eight young Toronto artists who are contemplati=
ng=20
the future.  The reception is free and open to the public.  Wine and hors d=
=E2=80=99
oeuvres will be served.
=20
In =E2=80=9COmination,=E2=80=9D the artists ask the question: =E2=80=9CWhat=20=
does the future hold?=E2=80=9D =20
Drawing from personal hopes or fears, some create work referencing their own=
=20
immediate future.  Others will explore how our actions today have serious=20
ramifications for the world as a whole.  A few will explore how they believe=
=20
technology and adornment will have evolved over hundreds or even thousands o=
f=20
years, and how this affects the people of the distant future.
=20
Between the ideas presented by the artists and those brought by the viewers,=
 =E2=80=9C
Omination=E2=80=9D aims to create a discourse that demonstrates the infinite=
=20
possibilities the future holds.  The artists represented in =E2=80=9COminati=
on=E2=80=9D include=20
Maegen Black, Joanna Bowker, Kimberly Chin, Carolyn E. Scandiffio, Ashley Th=
ompson,=20
Stephanie Willson, Kyla Vitek and Colette Zilka.  Full biographies on the=20

Following the opening, the artists=E2=80=99 work will be on exhibit at Galle=
ry M=20
through Saturday, October 13th.  Gallery hours are Monday and Wednesday from=
 6:30=20
p.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and by appointment.

Gallery M and T.A.P. Studios will be featured on a City Artists at Work tour=
=20
on September 15th and 16th.  Owner Todd Pownell will give demonstrations of=20
jewelry making and gemology in conjunction with the continuing =E2=80=9COmin=
ation=E2=80=9D show.
