Cleveland's Gallery M to Host Reception for Fall Show "Omination" September
7th from 5-9 p.m.

On Friday, September 7th from 5 to 9 p.m., Gallery M, part of the Cleveland
Art Quarter, will host a reception for its fall show entitled "Omination."
Featured in the show will be eight young Toronto artists who are contemplating
the future. The reception is free and open to the public. Wine and hors
d'oeuvres will be served.

In "Omination," the artists ask the question: "What does the future hold?"
Drawing from personal hopes or fears, some create work referencing their own
immediate future. Others will explore how our actions today have serious
ramifications for the world as a whole. A few will explore how they believe
technology and adornment will have evolved over hundreds or even thousands of years,
and how this affects the people of the distant future. Between the ideas
presented by the artists and those brought by the viewers, "Omination" aims to
create a discourse that demonstrates the infinite possibilities the future holds.

The artists represented in "Omination" include Maegen Black, Joanna Bowker,
Kimberly Chin, Carolyn E. Scandiffio, Ashley Thompson, Stephanie Willson, Kyla
Vitek and Colette Zilka. Full biographies on the artists are available upon
request.

Following the opening, the artists' work will be on exhibit at Gallery M
through Saturday, October 13th. Gallery hours are Monday and Wednesday from 6:30
p.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and by appointment.

Gallery M and T.A.P. Studios will be featured on a City Artists at Work tour
on September 15th and 16th. Owner Todd Pownell will give demonstrations of
jewelry making and gemology in conjunction with the continuing "Omination" show.
